Case Study: SLC Bearing serves Machine Tool Spindle Industry

In early 2021, a bearing distributor from Zhejiang province approached us, SLC, seeking assistance with a technical challenge faced by one of their direct supply customers in the machine tool spindle bearing sector.

Upon receiving the inquiry, we proactively engaged with the customer to understand their requirements. They were a company manufacturing machine tool gearboxes and required a 7205ACTN/p5-DB spindle bearing. Due to limitations in the gearbox housing, they had strict requirements for the outer diameter of the bearing, which could only accommodate tolerances of -3μm, -4μm, and -5μm. However, the bearings provided by their previous supplier in Haining, Zhejiang province, did not meet the required precision in size tolerance during installation, necessitating multiple replacements and severely impacting project timelines. Consequently, they turned to us, SLC, for assistance.

Upon understanding the customer's needs, we dispatched our technical team the same day, equipped with standard gauges and a complete set of professional testing instruments, to provide on-site assistance. After conducting thorough on-site inspections and engaging in extensive discussions with the customer, we identified that the customer's measurement instruments were inaccurate, leading to significant errors. Subsequently, the customer had their instruments calibrated by the metrology bureau, confirming our findings.

Ultimately, impressed by the professionalism of our SLC team and our customer-centric service philosophy, the customer chose to discontinue their engagement with their previous supplier and established a long-term partnership with us, SLC, among numerous bearing manufacturers.
